Trials Time With Katy Jermann

Meet Katy Jermann!  A former member of our rabbitELITE team, we cannot be more excited to have Katy as part of the PRO team. In just her first year of racing the marathon, she has set a blistering hot 2:31 PR at NYC this past fall. Not to mention, a speedy 69:33 half marathon PR set at Houston this past month, Katy is ready to make some noise in Atlanta!

1.) What are you using to fuel up?

Tailwind (Flavor: Green Tea Buzz caffeinated)

I accredit my discovery and loyalty to Tailwind to the local ultra and trail runners that I work, run, and celebrate life with. In training or racing, I feel fueled, hydrated, and comfortable!

2.) Favorite part of marathon training?

There is nothing quite like sharing cooldowns with teammates and our coach after a successful marathon-specific workout.

3.) Least favorite part of marathon training?

The fatigue that lingers throughout the day, making it a challenge to fully engage in the late afternoon when naps aren’t an option.

4.) What is your goal going into the race?

I aim to soak in the experience, thrive in confidence, and walk away knowing I put forth my best effort.

5.) What number marathon is this for you?

 No. 3

6.) What has been the hardest part of your build-up?

I have had a few bumps in the road with training during this build-up that has challenged me to be adaptable to what I cannot control and grateful for each mile I cover.

7.) Advice for someone giving marathoning a first try?

The marathon is a journey. There are ups and downs and plenty of nerves and excitement because of the unknowns. My advice would be to stay in the moment, look to the crowd for support, and focus on what is going well. Smile.
