How did you feel when you qualified? What was that experience like? Excited and proud to qualify for my second Olympic Marathon Trials in a race that I struggled in early but stayed confident and kept it together despite falling off of my goal pace. Our daughter was 6 months old at the time so I thought of my seeing my wife holding her at the finish cheering me in and how lucky I was to have their support in my running. Being new parents with all those changes I was happy to be in that race with the training and fitness in me to be clicking off 5:15 miles.

What dream are you chasing at the Trials? I want to really enjoy the whole process leading up to and including racing the trials. Be fit, place well in the race and hopefully run a fast time. Running has been a part of my daily rhythm for over 20 years so I’m also thinking of the trials of a culmination of all the people and joy running has brought into my life.
