Qualifying Race and Time: Grandma's Marathon 2023, 2:12.49

How did you feel when you qualified? What was that experience like? I felt like my legs hurt. All jokes aside, it was a feeling of relief, joy, gratitude and excitement. Solidifying my belief that I can compete with some of the best marathoners in the nation and world. At the same time a lot of pressure off my shoulders as many didn't see my 2:09.13 as legit and being able to back it up with this marathon by getting an OTQ so next time I can race all out without reserving anything to make sure I qualify. With the 2:12 only being my 2 marathon ever. Lastly, gratitude for finally finding a race and event that I love to do. I feel like I was meant to race the marathon. It is an event that I'm falling in love with each time I run it.

What dream are you chasing at the Trials? I have a couple of dreams, the first and most important  is to make the USA Marathon Team. It's everyone's Dream to make The Olympic team so I'm pushing to that goal. I know I have what it takes and have now found the event that I love enough to put in the work. The second goal is to be able to prove that you don't have to be a part of a pro team, an all American, a high school prodigy to succeed in running, all you need is a community and a love of the sport.
