Qualifying Race and Time: 2022 Florence Marathon 2:17:07

How did you feel when you qualified? What was that experience like? I went to Florence with a few boxes to check off: 1) See an amazing city 2) Buy an Italian suit for my wedding 3) Grab an OTQ. It was a weekend of compromises between those three goals rather than the usual OTQ attempt story, and I was pretty happy with the result! I carb/carpaccio-loaded the night before and consumed my weight in gelato afterwards.

What dream are you chasing at the Trials? I don’t have a concrete dream. The Olympic trials is a “pure” race - everyone is there, so place means everything. Pure races are harder and harder to come by as you graduate college. It’s refreshing to toss out times and paces, take a look around you, and race.
