How did you feel when you qualified? What was that experience like? It was very satisfying, because the 2:18:00 mark had been just out of reach at my previous marathon in Boston 2022. I fought the wind a lot in the last 3 miles of Boston, and watched as 2:18 slipped away, so it was great to come back and get it at CIM. Boston was the first time I had entertained that OTQ might be a possibility, but I made it an active goal for the CIM '22 build, so it was rewarding to see that come to fruition.
What dream are you chasing at the Trials? I am simply excited to race, try to beat the Florida heat, and make those who have supported me in my running career proud. During my CIM '22 build, I balanced chasing OTQ with finishing my PhD in metallurgy, and now I aim to balance a successful Trials finish with the beginning of a challenging research career. Running the trials will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I intend to seize it.
