Summer has arrived as so has the hot & humid days filled with brutal temperatures and blazing heat. This year's Beat the Heat blog will provide our top tips of the season for mastering a sun soaked run. Filled with new innovative products and our tried and true tips, learn how to love the sweat and start your summer day off right.

...

1. Right Time, Right Place

Summer doesn’t mess around. The heat ramps up fast, and so should your planning. Early mornings and late evenings are still your safest bets, but life doesn’t always cooperate. That’s why flexibility is your superpower. Scope out the hourly forecast the night before. Prioritize both temperature and humidity. Is 6:30 a.m. your golden window? Take it. Can you shift dinner to squeeze in a cooler sunset run? Do it. Even switching your rest day to match a heat wave can pay off big.

If you can, bring a buddy along. Running with a friend not only keeps you accountable, but it makes the heat more bearable. With a good conversation, the miles will fly by!

Flying solo?  Plug into a great podcast, our favorite is the trail society podcast —insightful, inspiring, and perfect for keeping your mind engaged while the sweat flows.

Also consider your route. Shaded trails, tree-lined streets, and breezy paths near water can make a huge difference in how the run feels. Parks and greenbelts tend to run cooler than open pavement, and loops with water fountains or bathroom stops give you more ways to reset. Plan smart, run smart. Not sure about the trail, check out All Trails!

2. Dress in the best

The right apparel is your first line of defense. Think quick drying,  lightweight, and breathable—all non-negotiables when the sun is blazing. Our premium Sun n’ Ice apparel is made for sun soaked adventure.

Our pick? Tanks, tees, and long sleeves crafted from Quick n’ Fit Perf Ice. Discover perfs all over for increased breathability as well as super soft fabric featuring ice-cafe nylon. It dries fast, resists odor, and feels cool against your skin. Or you can dress to protect, our UPF deflector 2.0, the new updates include laser-cut perfs under the arms for impressive ventilation.

And since we're in the thick of summer, we thought we should help you out. Gear up for the heat with our sale—buy any 2 pieces from our Beat the Heat collection and get 25% off your entire rabbit order. July 28-30, 2025 only.

3. Hydrate

You can’t out-tough dehydration. Period. Staying ahead of thirst is essential—especially when you’re logging miles in heat and humidity. Hydrate throughout the day, not just when you're running. Bring a bottle, stash a vest, or plan a route with water stops. For longer efforts, toss in electrolytes (like Nuun, Liquid I.V., or your go-to blend) to replace the salt and minerals lost through sweat.

And don’t forget fuel. Carbs are your friend when the heat saps your energy. Grab an energy gel, chew, or even fruit puree pouch to stay strong through every mile.

But where can you stash all of these essentials? Check out our Stashems—another easy way to stay fueled and prepared on the move.

And have you heard about rabbit's new Hydration Bra? Designed with a built-in HydraPak pocket (included in purchase), this innovative sports bra keeps water—and other essentials—secure and within

4. Accessories

Accessories are your secret weapon—and the right ones can turn a sufferfest into a strong finish.

We’re talking Ice RAD-danas with built-in ice pockets. Mesh-panel Ice Hats that let you tuck in cubes for mid-run relief. Lightweight Bucket Hats that block rays while staying breathable. These aren't gimmicks—they're game-changers. Consider them the summer running equivalent of race-day socks: once you try them, you’ll never go without.

...

Summer running doesn’t have to feel like survival mode. With the right prep, gear, and mindset, you can thrive – even when the sun is doing the most. So next time the forecast looks steamy, lean into it and bring a buddy! You’re ready.
