RADJournals: Kelly DeVore

This month's RADJournal features Kelly DeVore. Kelly is a fantastic ultrarunner training in Southern California and now a soon to be mother! Congratulations Kelly! We are so excited for you and your family.

Kelly has an incredible message on the benefits of running. Kelly was able to find solace in running amidst tragedy. Kelly is a true inspiration, and we will always be cheering her on!

What keeps me running is my inner strength. I have been a runner most of my life but 6 years ago I lost my dad to suicide and my world was completely shattered. I didn’t know how to cope and while I did seek grief and individual counseling running is what kept me strong during those difficult first months after. I have consistently run since then and have even reached goals I have set for myself such as running marathons and even dabbling in the ultra distance. In a way running saved me and I will always be thankful for the strength I have been blessed with both mentally and physically.
